Steam locomotives did not quite disappear from Eastfield Shed with the end of steam operations. BR Standard Class 4 2-6-4T No. 80002 was retained for a time as a stationary boiler for the heating of carriage stock, and is seen here standing adjacent to Cowlairs Signal Box during April 1969. This locomotive was reprieved and now operates on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway in West Yorkshire. [Eastbank Model Railway Club]
